Interfaith Solidarity Fast for Climate Justice

JOIN US FOR AN INTERFAITH SOLIDARITY ACTION
Context
For six weeks, the Tanzanian government has interrogated, detained, and harassed 10 GreenFaith volunteers for their opposition to the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). People of diverse faiths are planning a global, interfaith solidarity fast to show solidarity and draw attention to this human rights violation.
This action
TotalEnergies, the French multinational behind the 1,443 kilometer pipeline project, holds its Annual General Meeting on Friday May 24. We are mobilizing 1,443 people to fast for a day to express solidarity with the people affected in Uganda and Tanzania, and demand an immediate halt to EACOP.
Get Involved
- You can choose any day between May 17 and 24, 2024.
- You can fast where you live.
- You can choose an alternative form of fasting, if fasting from food and/or drink is impossible or difficult for you; for example fasting from the internet, etc.
Together, let's send a message to decision-makers
