Our society often separates, even alienates, people from the natural world. Children and adults spend less and less time outdoors than in the past. Most U.S. citizens can list the names of over 1,000 corporations or brands but fewer than ten plants or animals native to their own region. The result? People’s relationship with creation is distanced, their bond with the Divine in and through nature is stunted, and society suffers the effects of a population whose relationship with the earth is weak.
